Caretrust Reit, Inc.
A real estate investment company that owns and leases healthcare properties across the United States, from skilled nursing facilities to seniors housing. CareTrust was created in 2014 when its former parent, The Ensign Group, split in two — Ensign kept running the care services while CareTrust took ownership of the buildings. That kind of split, separating an operating company from its property company, is known in the industry as an 'OpCo/PropCo' arrangement.
