A maker of enterprise software for storing, managing, and analyzing massive volumes of data, Cloudera's platform helps finance, healthcare, telecom, and government organizations run analytics and artificial intelligence on their own data, whether it lives in public clouds, private clouds, or on-site data centers. Founded in 2008 by a group of engineers from Google, Yahoo!, and Facebook, its name is a mash-up of "cloud" and "era," a nod to the founders' bet on the coming "Cloud Era" of computing.
