Cninsure Inc. (fanhua Inc.)

A technology-driven insurance brokerage platform in China, Fanhua (once known as CNinsure) connects consumers with insurance products from many carriers rather than underwriting them itself, and handles claims, agent training, and digital sales tools. It was founded in 1998 by Yinan Hu and Qiuping Lai, who started with a car rental and auto-services business before branching into car insurance a year later. Its Chinese name, Fanhua (泛华), joins characters meaning "broad" and "splendid," evoking a far-reaching, flourishing enterprise—a fitting name for a company that grew from rental cars into one of China's largest independent insurance intermediaries.
