Collectors Universe Inc

A company that authenticates and grades high-value collectibles, helping collectors and dealers trust what they're buying. Its flagship brand, Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), was founded in 1986 by a group of seven coin dealers who wanted to standardize a hobby built on subjective "handshake" deals. The name "Collectors Universe" was later adopted to cover its expanding "universe" of services, which now include sports cards, autographs, and other memorabilia — with graded coins sealed in tamper-proof plastic "slabs."
