Digitalbridge Group Inc
DigitalBridge Group is an asset manager that invests in the physical backbone of the internet: data centers, cell towers, and fiber networks, on behalf of big institutional clients like pension funds. The company began as Colony Capital, a real estate firm founded in 1991 by Tom Barrack that made its name buying distressed property loans after the savings-and-loan crisis. In 2019 it acquired a digital-infrastructure firm called Digital Bridge, and in 2021 it renamed itself DigitalBridge to reflect its full pivot from hotels and offices to the hardware that powers modern connectivity.
