Colony Capital Inc
A global investment firm that buys and manages digital infrastructure — the data centers, fiber networks and cell towers that keep the internet running — for pension funds and other big investors. It was founded in 1991 by Thomas Barrack, who snapped up distressed real estate during the savings-and-loan crisis and named the firm Colony, a nod to scouting new territory for undervalued assets. In 2021 it sold off its hotels and offices and rebranded as DigitalBridge to focus purely on the digital world.
