Convergys Corp

A global provider of outsourced customer service and billing software, Convergys ran call centers and help-desk operations for large companies in finance, communications, and other industries. It was founded in 1998 as a spin-off from Cincinnati Bell, which had absorbed AT&T's shareholder-services business during the 1980s breakup of the phone giant. Its name plays on "convergence" — a nod to bringing billing, technology, and customer care together — and in 2018 the company was folded into Concentrix.
