Tribune Media Co

A former American broadcasting giant, Tribune Media ran dozens of local television stations and the WGN America cable network, all born from the Chicago Tribune newspaper founded in 1847. Its call letters WGN stand for "World's Greatest Newspaper," a nod to its newspaper roots. In 2014 the company split its papers from its broadcast arm, and in 2019 Nexstar Media Group absorbed it.
