International Speedway Corporation

A company that owned and ran motorsports racetracks, most famously Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway, and Watkins Glen. It was founded in 1953 by Bill France Sr., the same man who founded NASCAR, first as "Bill France Racing, Inc." to build a permanent home for stock-car racing. It later changed its name to International Speedway Corporation in 1968 to reflect its growing collection of tracks, and in 2019 NASCAR bought it and folded it into the organization. Fun fact: as a teenager, France would skip school to watch races—and sometimes sneak his family's Model T onto the track to drive a few laps.
