Mirant Corporation
A maker of radiation detection, measurement, and monitoring tools, Mirion Technologies equips nuclear power plants, defense labs, and cancer centers worldwide. Its products and services, like dosimetry monitoring and quality-assurance software, protect workers, patients, and facilities from invisible radiation. Formed in 2005 by stitching together several decades-old radiation-safety brands, the company kept growing through acquisitions. Fun fact: it redesigned detection devices for first responders after learning standard lab buttons were too small to press while wearing emergency gloves.
