Cumulus Media Inc

A broadcaster that owns and operates hundreds of AM and FM radio stations across the United States, and whose Westwood One arm syndicates talk, news, and sports programs to stations nationwide. It was founded in 1997 by radio consultant Lewis Dickey Jr. and entrepreneur Richard Weening, who took advantage of radio deregulation to buy up clusters of stations in smaller markets. The name "Cumulus" nods to cumulus clouds, meant to suggest a gathering of stations, and in 2013 the company folded in the storied Westwood One network, making it one of the country's largest audio companies.
