Invesco Currencyshares Euro Trust
An exchange-traded fund that lets everyday investors gain exposure to the euro without opening a foreign-currency bank account: its shares rise and fall with the value of the euro against the U.S. dollar, backed by real euros held in deposit accounts rather than complex derivatives. It was formed in 2005, the first in the CurrencyShares family developed by Precidian Investments, and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FXE. The trust got its start when its sponsor deposited just 100 euros into a JPMorgan Chase account in London.
