A maker of laser and light-based devices used by dermatologists and med-spas to treat skin—brands include CoolGlide for hair removal and vascular work and LimeLight for photo-rejuvenation. It was founded in 1998 by veteran laser engineers, first as Acme Medical, then Altus Medical, before rebranding as Cutera in 2004. A fun quirk: the company has changed names twice yet kept the same team driving its technology.
