A Florida developer of the Cyclone Engine, a modern external-combustion engine that burns fuel in an outside chamber rather than inside cylinders, essentially a high-tech steam engine that can run on fuels like biodiesel, waste oil, or propane. Founded in 2004 by marine engineer Harry Schoell, the company designed the engine to power generators, vehicles, and even boats, and its design was named Popular Science magazine's "Invention of the Year" in 2008.
