Dean Foods Co
A large American dairy processor that made the fluid milk, ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, and creamers sold under many regional brand names across the United States. It began in 1925 when Samuel E. Dean Sr., who had brokered evaporated milk in Chicago, opened the Dean Evaporated Milk Company with a single plant in Pecatonica, Illinois. Its assets were later acquired by the Dairy Farmers of America cooperative in 2020, and many of its regional brands still stock grocery dairy aisles today.
