Intelsat S.a.
A satellite services company that runs a global fleet of communications satellites, beaming data, voice, and video to governments, militaries, broadcasters, and telecom operators worldwide. It began in 1964 as an intergovernmental consortium of eighteen nations, and its name is an acronym of that original title, the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization. Its first satellite, Intelsat I, nicknamed "Early Bird," launched in 1965 as the world's first commercial communications satellite in geostationary orbit.
