Discover Financial Services

A financial company that issues the Discover credit card, a widely used payment card offering cash-back rewards and no annual fee, alongside banking and payment services. It began in 1985 when retailer Sears created the card to compete with Visa and Mastercard, naming it "Discover" to give it an independent identity rather than a Sears-branded card. The card famously debuted with a commercial during Super Bowl XX, and the business became its own public company after Morgan Stanley spun it off in 2007.
