EATON VANCE SENIOR INCOME TR
A closed-end investment fund that pools money to buy senior secured floating-rate loans made to corporations — loans whose interest payments rise and fall with market rates. It was launched in 1998 and is managed by Eaton Vance, a Boston firm whose name comes from the 1979 merger of two older investment houses, Eaton & Howard and Vance, Sanders & Company. A fun detail: Eaton Vance has been a pioneer in floating-rate loans since 1989, and the fund's name reflects that specialty in "senior" (first-in-line) corporate debt.
Closed-end fund investing primarily in senior secured floating-rate loans, objective is high current income with capital preservation
