A maker of vacuum technology and abatement systems used across semiconductor manufacturing, scientific research, and industrial processes. Edwards traces its roots to a small laboratory equipment shop opened in London in 1919 by F.D. Edwards, who later developed some of the earliest commercial high-vacuum pumps. The company's name comes straight from its founder's surname, and its distinctive "yellow and black" branding on pumps has become familiar in cleanrooms around the world.
