A chemistry and engineering firm in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, that helps power plants burn cleaner and run more efficiently. Its products—CoalTreat, a fuel additive that stops coal slag from coking boiler walls, and KLeeNscrub, which captures mercury from flue gas—serve utility and industrial power plants. Founded in 1992, the company grew out of WasteMasters, Inc., a firm that owned non-hazardous waste disposal sites, then reshaped itself into a clean energy technology company.
