Equinor Asa
A major energy company from Norway, one of the world's largest offshore oil and gas producers, now also building offshore wind farms and low-carbon projects. It was founded in 1972 as the Norwegian state oil company, later called Statoil, and renamed itself Equinor in 2018. The name blends "equi," for balance and equality, with "nor," a nod to its Norwegian roots.
