Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp
A maker of engine and chassis parts for cars and trucks, Federal-Mogul supplies everything from spark plugs and brake pads to gaskets and steering components, with brands like Champion, Wagner, Fel-Pro, MOOG and ANCO found in garages and on assembly lines. It began in 1899 when two Detroit firms — the Federal Bearing and Bushing Company and the Muzzy-Lyon Company, which made "Mogul" metal bearings — merged, and its name simply stitches the two together. The company later grew through purchases such as the Champion spark plug and Fel-Pro gasket lines, and in 2018 it was folded into the auto parts giant Tenneco.
