First Place Financial Corp/oh
A bank holding company that ran First Place Bank, offering retail and business banking, mortgage lending, and commercial loans across the Midwest. Its roots go back to the Ohio Central Credit Union, founded in 1949; it later became a savings bank, moved its headquarters to Warren, Ohio in 2008, and grew by acquiring regional institutions. After its parent filed for bankruptcy in 2012, the bank was bought by Talmer Bancorp in early 2013 and its operations were eventually folded into other institutions.
