Fitbit Inc
A maker of wearable fitness trackers and smartwatches, Fitbit lets people track steps, heart rate, sleep, and exercise. Founded in San Francisco in 2007 by James Park and Eric Friedman—inspired by the motion-sensing of the Nintendo Wii—the company became part of Google in 2021. Its name nearly didn't happen: the founders toyed with "Fitberry" and "Fitcado" before Park woke from a nap with "Fitbit" in mind.
