A US telecom that builds and runs one of the country's largest fiber-optic internet networks, delivering high-speed broadband to homes and businesses across dozens of states. It began in 1935 as Citizens Utilities, a Minneapolis company serving rural communities with water, gas, electricity, and phone service, then focused on telecom and adopted the Frontier name in 2008. Fun fact: the "Frontier" brand actually came from a rival carrier bought years earlier, so today's company traces its roots to a Great Depression–era utility.
