Fusion-Io Inc
A maker of high-speed flash storage cards, Fusion-io's ioDrive and ioMemory plugged straight into a server's PCIe slot, letting databases and cloud workloads run far faster than on ordinary hard drives. Founded in 2005 by David Flynn and Rick White—initially as Canvas Technologies in Nevada—it counted Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak as chief scientist, and its cards helped Facebook turn garden-variety servers into super servers as the social network exploded. SanDisk acquired the company in 2014.
