Interest Rate Risk
We are exposed to market risks related to changes in interest rates with respect to our Credit Agreement. Payments under the Credit Agreement are indexed to a variable interest rate. Based on borrowings outstanding under the Credit Agreement of approximately $248.9 million and approximately $56.9 million in outstanding letters of credit, as of June 30, 2026, for every one percent increase in the average interest rate applicable to the Credit Agreement, our total annual interest expense would have increased by approximately $3.1 million.
We have entered into certain interest rate swap arrangements for hedging purposes, fixing the interest rate on certain of our variable rate debt. The difference between the floating rate and the swap rate on these instruments is recognized in interest expense within the respective entity. Because the interest rates with respect to these instruments are fixed, a hypothetical 100 basis point change in the current interest rate would not have a material impact on our financial condition or results of operations.
Additionally, we invest our cash in a variety of short-term financial instruments to provide a return. These instruments generally consist of highly liquid investments with original maturities at the date of purchase of three months or less. While these instruments are subject to interest rate risk, a hypothetical 100 basis point increase or decrease in market interest rates would not have a material impact on our financial condition or results of operations.
Foreign Currency Exchange Rate Risk
We are also exposed to market risks related to fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates between the U.S. dollar, and the Australian dollar, the South African Rand and the British Pound currency exchange rates. Based upon our foreign currency exchange rate exposure as of June 30, 2026, every 10 percent change in historical currency rates would have approximately a $9.3 million effect on our financial position and approximately a $1.2 million impact on our results of operations during the six months ended June 30, 2026.
