The Geo Group, Inc.
One of the world's largest private operators of correctional and detention facilities, this Boca Raton, Florida company runs prisons, jails, immigration detention centers, and community reentry programs for government agencies. It began in 1984 as Wackenhut Corrections Corporation, a division of a security firm founded by former FBI agents, and took the name GEO Group in 2003 after its parent was sold.
