Gnc Holdings Inc
A retailer of vitamins, protein powders, and other nutritional supplements, GNC sells its own brands alongside popular names in stores and online for health-minded shoppers. It began in 1935 when David Shakarian opened a small Pittsburgh health food shop called Lackzoom, which he renamed General Nutrition Centers (GNC) as it grew. A 1936 flood wiped out his early stores, yet he rebuilt and expanded into the global chain known today.
