Gt Advanced Technologies Inc
A maker of crystal-growing furnaces and advanced materials that produced sapphire and silicon carbide for semiconductors, solar panels, and LEDs. Founded in the early 1990s by two engineers working out of their basements, the company was originally called GT Solar before renaming to GT Advanced Technologies in 2011. Its sapphire-growing furnaces once supplied Apple's crystal for device glass, and it was later acquired by the chipmaker onsemi in 2021.
