Gardner Denver Holdings Inc

A maker of industrial air compressors, vacuum pumps, and blowers used by factories, energy producers, and wastewater plants, this company traces back to 1859, when Scottish immigrant Robert W. Gardner founded the Gardner Governor Company in Quincy, Illinois, selling "fly-ball" governors that kept steam engines running at a steady speed. In 1927 it merged with the Denver Rock Drill Manufacturing Company, giving it the Gardner-Denver name, and in 2020 it combined with Ingersoll Rand's industrial arm to form the company that now operates under the Ingersoll Rand name.
