Gazprom Pjsc
One of the world's largest natural gas companies, Gazprom explores, extracts, and ships gas and oil through a vast pipeline network that has long supplied much of Europe. Born in 1989 when the Soviet Union's gas ministry was turned into a state-run corporation, its name squeezes together the Russian words for "gas industry." Its headquarters, the Lakhta Center in Saint Petersburg, is the tallest building in Europe—and the company even owns the Zenit Saint Petersburg football club.
