One (a-Star Sponsor, Kevin Hartz Spac)

A blank-check company, or SPAC, that raised money from public investors with the sole purpose of merging with a single private business and taking it public. It was founded by Kevin Hartz, the co-founder of Eventbrite and Xoom, who launched it in 2020. The name "one" reflects the fact that it existed to back just one company — and it did, merging with 3D-printer maker Markforged in 2021, after which it vanished into that new business.
