A maker of network-visibility gear, Gigamon builds a "Deep Observability Pipeline" that copies, filters, and decrypts the traffic flowing through data centers and clouds, so security and monitoring tools only see what matters. IT teams at large enterprises use its GigaVUE line of network taps and aggregators to spot blind spots and catch threats. Founded in 2004 by Ted Ho, Patrick Leong, and Thomas Cheung as Gigamon Systems, its early taps helped fight the MyDoom worm that was raging at the time—the name itself nods to the "giga" scale of network speeds it was built to watch.
