A blank-check company (a SPAC) that raised money in a 2021 IPO to hunt for a private business to buy and take public, sponsored by The Gores Group, the private equity firm founded by Alec Gores. It searched for targets in technology, industrials, healthcare and consumer products, but its planned merger with sustainable-packaging maker Footprint fell apart and it liquidated in late 2022. A family quirk: founder Alec Gores, born Elias in Nazareth, Israel, was given his English name when an aunt met the family at the airport after they moved to Michigan.
