A biotech company engineering CAR-T cell therapies — living medicines made from a patient's own immune cells, re-engineered to hunt down cancers and autoimmune diseases. Its FasTCAR platform can manufacture these therapies overnight instead of the usual weeks. Founded in 2017 by cell-therapy veteran Dr. William Wei Cao, the firm was acquired by AstraZeneca in 2024. Its name blends "grace" and "cell," a nod to treating disease more gently than conventional CAR-T production.
