Grupo Financiero Santander Mex
One of Mexico's largest banks, this subsidiary of the Spanish Santander Group serves everyday consumers, small businesses, and large corporations with retail banking, loans, and investment services. It began life in 1991 as Grupo Financiero InverMexico, was renamed after its Spanish parent bought it, and later absorbed the bank Serfin. The Santander name comes from the Spanish port city where the parent was founded in 1857, and its red flame logo was created in 1986 to symbolize human progress.
