A real estate investment trust that owns and develops healthcare properties — life-science laboratories, medical office buildings, and senior housing — across the United States. Founded in 1985 as Health Care Property Investors, it shortened its name to HCP in 2007 and rebranded as Healthpeak Properties in 2019. It was the first healthcare REIT ever added to the S&P 500 index.
