An oil and gas exploration company, founded in 1988 in Houston, that hunted for petroleum in far-flung places like Venezuela, Indonesia, and offshore Gabon, working the fields through joint ventures. Its name plays on the Old English word for autumn—the season of gathering—fitting for a firm that "harvests" crude from the earth. After years of trying to sell off its international assets, its shareholders voted in 2017 to liquidate and dissolve the company.
