Healthwell Acquisition Corp. I
A maker of nothing itself, Healthwell Acquisition Corp. I was a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) — a "blank check" shell that raises money on the stock market to later buy or merge with an existing business. It went public on the Nasdaq in 2021 to hunt for healthcare and wellness technology companies, and in 2023 it agreed to combine with Starton Therapeutics, a biotech working on cancer-treatment delivery. That merger fell apart that November, and the company wound down and redeemed its shares — easily confused with the HealthWell Foundation, an unrelated patient-aid charity with a nearly identical name.
Class A Common Stock — Liquidated December 2023
