Heartland Payment Systems, Inc.

A payment processing company that helps businesses big and small accept credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets and QR codes — at the register, online and on the go. Co-founded in 1997 by Robert Carr, it grew into one of the largest processors in the United States before being folded into Global Payments in 2016, where it still runs as a brand. Its name nods to its small-business roots: Heartland has long styled itself "a corporation with heart."
