Heska Corp
One of the larger makers of veterinary diagnostic tools, Heska supplies veterinarians with in-clinic lab analyzers and allergy tests for dogs, cats, and horses. It began in 1988 as Paravax, founded by a parasitology professor and a venture capitalist to build parasite vaccines for animals. The company later took the Heska name and moved to Colorado to work beside Colorado State University researchers — a far cry from the parasite-vaccine plan its original name hinted at.
