Hibbett Inc
A US retailer of athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories, running more than a thousand stores across dozens of states under the Hibbett and City Gear banners, with a focus on small and mid-sized towns that bigger chains often skip. It began in 1945 when Rufus Hibbett opened a small store called Dixie Supply Company in Alabama, and the name became "Hibbett" after his sons joined in 1952. In 2024, the British sportswear giant JD Sports bought the company, but it still calls Birmingham, Alabama, home.
