An industrial company based in Batesville, Indiana, that builds heavy machinery and components used to make plastics, food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Its roots go back to 1906, when John A. Hillenbrand bought a struggling coffin maker and grew it into the Batesville Casket Company, one of the world's largest casket manufacturers, before that business was sold off in 2023. Today its brands include Coperion, known for extrusion and bulk-material handling systems, and Milacron, a name in injection molding.
