Hospitality Properties Trust

A real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns hotels and service-oriented properties and leases them to operators under long-term contracts. Founded in 1995 in Newton, Massachusetts, the company was originally called Hospitality Properties Trust because it focused only on hospitality real estate; in 2019, after acquiring a large portfolio of travel centers and restaurants, it renamed itself Service Properties Trust to reflect its wider reach.
