A major U.S. homebuilder, K. Hovnanian builds and sells single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and 55+ active-adult communities across dozens of states, plus mortgage and title services. It was founded in 1959 by Kevork Hovnanian, an Armenian road-construction businessman who fled Iraq after the 1958 revolution and started building with his three brothers from a trailer in Toms River, New Jersey. The "K." in the name is simply Kevork's first initial.
