Huadian Power International Corporation Ltd
A generator of electricity that builds and operates power plants across China — coal-fired, gas-fired, and hydropower — supplying both electricity and heat to cities and industries. It is the main operating arm of China Huadian Corporation, one of the country's five big state-owned power groups. Founded in 1994 as Shandong International Power, it took its current name in 2004. A fun quirk: "huadian" also names a floral forehead ornament painted by ancient Chinese women, so the company shares its name with a Tang-dynasty beauty trend.
