Hyundai Motor Company
A maker of cars for everyday drivers, building sedans, SUVs and electric vehicles under its own Hyundai brand, plus the luxury line Genesis and a stake in Kia. Founder Chung Ju-yung started the motor company in 1967 after building a construction business, and the name Hyundai means "modern" in Korean. Its first model, the Pony of 1975, designed by Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro, was South Korea's first mass-produced car.
