Icosavax Inc
A maker of vaccines built on computer-designed protein nanoparticles that mimic the shape of real viruses. It was founded in 2017 as a spinout from the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design, and its name fuses "icosahedral" (the geometric shape of its nanoparticles) with "vax." Its lead work targeted respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and in 2024 AstraZeneca acquired the company.
