Ingevity Corporation
A maker of specialty chemicals and materials based in North Charleston, South Carolina, Ingevity produces the activated carbon used in car fuel systems to trap gasoline vapors, along with the Capa® polymers found in bioplastics, coatings, and medical devices, and chemicals for paving roads. Its roots stretch back to 1846 as the specialty chemicals arm of MeadWestvaco, which spun it off as an independent company in 2016.
